As I've examine, the barrels started to get the “WP” at all over 1905, and then by 1908 each the receiver Winchester ammo deals and discounts and barrel had been stamped With all the “WP”. Have been assembled receivers and barrels proved being a unit (to receive the “WP”), or were barrels proved using a exam receiver? If analyzed as an assembled receiver & barrel, I could recognize stamping equally at the same time, but at what stage will be the evidence utilized, subsequent to the final metal sharpening but just before the bluing?
